Hi,
Voice maps is a great idea. Congratulations on putting that together. Might be a great way to lay markers on your vacation and have family or others who may visit listen in. A podcast to go along with a particular lat and lon and radius may be helpful.

We didn’t have much time to see each other’s apps during speedgeeking, but I would have enjoyed meeting with you.

I had the entry http://imoviemash.com. That was a lot of fun.

In my previous live, I helped to start the company http://jobflash.com, which helped hourly works use phone apps to apply for jobs. The power of integrating the regular telephone and the internet is truly awesome. Good luck at Voodoo.

Hi,

I’m just getting started with the API, but I’d like to see an option to pay for the service so users don’t have to listen to ads (maybe in conjunction with the dedicated number you mention). I have a few ideas for b2b related applications, but suspect in that context users would rather pay a small per call or monthly fee instead of listening to advertising.

Soon! We’re working on the ability for you to associate any phone number with the MyVox phone systems right now. That will include international numbers. You would be paying toll charges on these dedicated lines; we will likely roll out free lines in other countries down the road, but this is not yet on our schedule.

I agree that voice mashups are getting more and more traction. On a personal level, I think the term mashup is a tad over-used, but that’s beside the point. I think it’s exciting to see so many different companies approach the same space with different takes on how to add value to businesses.

Our CEO is presenting a EComm and will be focusing on this very subject. I would also like to point out that we also do TTS, Automated Speech Recognition, and automated phone calls as well through our API.

Thanks for your input. While I would disagree that the API description is poor - everybody who has talked to us about using it so far has been quite positive - there is definitely room for improvement. We are working on a new release of our docs now that will include examples of each command in action. In the meantime, I would encourage you to check out our gallery of sample applications to see real code, or go through the Getting Started section if you have not already.
